Concept and interaction design for an AR installation ‘Terrain Responder’

4 images of a 3d car model driving over different 3d environments

The Range Rover Evoque, Terrain Response application uses augmented reality to showcase the technical specifications and capabilities of the Range Rover Evoque. Users would position an iPad in front of printed markers arranged around the motorshow stand to access four 3D animations. Using augmented reality a user could move around the animation to view the car traversing the terrain from any angle. Each terrain environment was based on one of the four Terrain Response® modes featured on the Evoque.

I designed and art-directed a sixty second animation sequence for each environment that included the terrain surface and physical appearance, car behaviours, environmental conditions and suitable vehicle capabilities to highligh the technologies and capabilities of the Evoque.
